Noema (meaning “thinking,” or “the object of thought”) has been producing award-winning longform journalism since 2020. The editorial team believes there is a great need for conversations about pressing issues facing our culture that go beyond headlines, screenshots, and vertical shorts. Reading these richly designed pages full of thoughtful, well researched, and engaging writing makes it easy to slow down, and to think.
Published online and in print by the Berggruen Institute, Noema’s issues have a sophisticated and colorful look. At 7.5x9.5 inches, Noema’s unlaminated, 100lb stipple textured covers showcase striking art inset within a roomy frame of empty space. The interiors are printed on 100% recycled 70lb uncoated text stock , which easily hold the weight of these stories. The layout design by Noe & Associates skillfully utilizes colored text and flooded backgrounds to differentiate sections and pairs each piece of writing with a visual artist to interpret the core of the story.
